Two scientists, Osamah Siddiqui and Ibrahim Dincer, affiliated with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, have written “Ammonia Fuel Cells”. It is an outstanding documentation with highlights of the importance of implementing clean energy resources including the utilization of ammonia and hydrogen fuels.

During the past decade, ammonia has received increasing attention from various sectors and many people due to its excellent properties and carbon-free nature although it has been very well known in the refrigeration industry for refrigeration applications. Because of the considerable changes required for hydrogen energy systems applications, ammonia appears to entail a vital position in the development of the hydrogen economy. From the perspective of fuels, the necessity of shifting toward carbon-free fuels in this era has made ammonia stand out as a promising fuel that can aid in reducing the dependence on fossil fuel-based energy production. Also, ammonia is recognized as a clean solution as long as it is produced cleanly by renewables. In this regard, ammonia fuel cells play a key role toward the flourishment of ammonia energy.

The book is published by Elsevier and available under ISBN 978-0-12-822825-8.
